About Us

We are an interabled couple, Ella and Ted, navigating life and writing it down as we go

We ( Ella and Ted) are an interabled couple who met in 2022 (at work – old school!). Ted has Cerebral Palsy, specifically lower limb diplegic Cerebral Palsy, which, although he is ambulent, affects his mobility. Ted is registered disabled.

Ted is athletic and loves exercise and is an excellent swimmer – he used to swim competitively as a teenager. Over the years, Ted has explored the use of exercise to improve the effects of his CP, and has found strength training, swimming and walking has been very helpful with improving his mobility.

Ella is non-disabled but very much an ally of the disabled community. Before meeting Ted, she had not had much experience of Cerebral Palsy, so when we got together began to learn a lot about CP and also about the frustrations that can come with having a physical disability.

Ella also loves exercise and swimming in particular, and this is a passion they both share. Ella grew up in rural Wales and her love of nature and the countryside, and taking long rambling walks, influenced Ted to walk outside more, which has had huge benefits for Ted’s mobility.

We are fortunate to have good friends and family in their lives and try to make the most of opportunities to spend time socialising with us. This is where the inspiration for LGS came from. The inspiration and background for why we started LGS is discussed more in the first blog post!
